Gareth Bale’s proposed move to China fell through last year and Real Madrid have now accepted that the Wales international will be remaining in Spain until his contract expires in 2022.
Despite his strained relationship with Zinedine Zidane,Gareth Bale is set to see out the final two years on his contract atReal Madrid on wages of £650,000-a-week.
The 30-year-old enjoyed a positive first five years in La Liga but fans turned on him after a disappointing 2018/19 season, in which he managed only 14 goals across 42 appearances in all competitions.

Zinedine Zidane then publicly announced that the club wanted Bale to leave, which received a stern backlash from the player’s agent Jonathan Barnett.
In a fresh update over his future, it seems that Zidane will need to put his differences with Bale to one side, with the former Tottenham forward set to see out two further seasons with Los Blancos.
According to The Sun, Real understand that no Premier League club will be able to afford Bale in the current climate, which might well be the case across the world.
They add that the forward has been told that he is welcome to stay in a bid to get him back to his best form, with a £500m stadium redevelopment meaning that major incoming deals are on hold.
Bale has only made 14 La Liga appearances so far this season having endured calf and ankle problems, scoring only twice.
Barnett offered an update on his client’s stance as recently as February, and insisted that Bale remains in Zidane’s plans for the future.

He said: “I think people don’t know anything about what’s going on.
“People write articles, make comments and they have no idea what they’re talking about, and they themselves probably wouldn’t do it [leave Real Madrid].
“It’s not up to me, but Gareth believes there’s a still a future at Real Madrid.
“His family are very happy and settled and he has a lovely lifestyle, so he can pick and choose where he wants to play.”
