Pep Guardiola’s mother dies after suffering from coronavirus, Manchester City confirms

Manchester City has announced that Pep Guardiola’s mother, Dolors Sala Carrio, has died at the age of 82 after suffering from the Covid-19 infections. The 82-year-old Spaniard is reported to have died on Monday, April 6, 2020 after briefly falling ill showing coronavirus symptoms.

Manchester City said this in a statement posted on their official Twitter account, which read: “The Manchester City family was devastated to report the death of Pep’s mother Dolors Sala Carrio in Manresa, Barcelona today after signing a coronavirus agreement.

“Everyone associated with the club extends their sincerest condolences to Pep, his family and all their friends.”

Meanwhile, before the devastating incident, Pep Guardiola had earlier donated the sum of £1 million to Angel Soler Daniel Foundation and Medical College in Barcelona to intensify the fight against the novel Covid-19. Also, Guardiola also dropped a snippet video on his social media platform urging people to stay home and obey all guidelines stated by health authorities to help stop the spread of coronavirus.

Spain is one of the countries in the world that has been badly affected by the deadly pandemic that is currently rampaging the world. The number of reported cases in the country stood at 135,032 and 13,055 deaths recorded to date. Sadly, the 49-year-old coach mother is now one of the dead victims of the virus.

Expectedly, sympathy has been rolling in for Pep Guardiola as quite a number of sports institutions began to send their condolences.
